I’ve noticed that many users on Flirtual write in their bios that they are “only here for friends.” However, they often appear on the regular matchmaking side instead of the homie match side. This creates a lot of confusion, because people who are actually looking for relationships end up matching with people who only want friends, and vice versa.
To improve clarity and user experience, it would be helpful if Flirtual made a stronger distinction between matchmaking and homie match. For example, profiles that select “friends only” should only appear in homie match, while people open to dating should only appear in matchmaking. This would make intentions much clearer, reduce mismatched expectations, and help everyone find what they’re looking for faster.
A common issue on Flirtual is that many users say in their bios that they are “only here for friends,” but they still show up in the regular matchmaking feed instead of the homie match feed. This creates a lot of confusion and mismatched expectations for both sides.
Proposed solution:
Make the two modes more clearly separated by changing the buttons available in each.
In the Matchmaking feed, only the heart (like) and skip buttons should be visible.
In the Homie Match feed, only the homie button and skip should be visible.
This way, users can’t accidentally mix signals, and it becomes much clearer what people are looking for. It reduces frustration and helps everyone find what they want faster whether that’s friends or dating.
